When to go
Before 6 pm if you have under-21s (family friendly until then) and daytime if you want room on a floor; the bar itself says it's 'packed every night'.

The back door faces the Ryman across the alley ('It's 17 steps to Tootsies and 34 steps back' - Willie Nelson, quoted by the bar). No cover, but no large backpacks or cameras, and men can't come in wearing tank tops or sleeveless shirts. The free Tootsie's Birthday Bash street party is usually an early-September Sunday.
