The Hermitage Hotel
Nashville's grand hotel since 1910, across from the Capitol, with Jean-Georges' Drusie & Darr downstairs. It holds two Michelin Keys.
- Best for
- Couples, work trips and birthdays, a 10-minute walk from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A Parlor or Studio Suite for a big occasion. Weeknights are the better value.
- Good to know
- Even if you stay elsewhere, have coffee at the Pink Hermit Cafe and see the restored 1930s Art Deco men's room, a local landmark of its own.
Four Seasons Hotel Nashville
Floor-to-ceiling Cumberland River views, polished service and Rivière on the seventh-floor pool deck.
- Best for
- Couples, work trips and birthdays, an 8-minute walk from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A river-view room on a high floor.
- Good to know
- Rivière, the pool-deck restaurant, is worth booking even if you're staying somewhere else.
Noelle
A design hotel in a restored 1930s building, with Rare Bird on the roof and Hidden Bar beneath Printers Alley.
- Best for
- Couples, friends' trips, bach weekends and work trips, a 4-minute walk from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A high floor if you're a light sleeper; Printers Alley is right there.
- Good to know
- Lona, the Mexican restaurant downstairs, runs a happy hour at 5 PM and again at 9 PM.
1 Hotel Nashville
An eco-minded luxury hotel with 56,000 plants on the facade, a top-rated spa and Harriet's Rooftop. It's pet friendly.
- Best for
- Couples, work trips, birthdays and bach weekends, a 10-minute walk from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A Skyline or City room for the view. The Terrace House and Arbor House suites suit a small group.
- Good to know
- Book the Bamford spa ahead: it was named Tennessee's best hotel spa at the 2026 World Spa Awards.
Thompson Nashville
The Gulch's design hotel, with L.A. Jackson on the roof, and brunch within walking distance.
- Best for
- Couples, bach weekends and friends' trips, a 6-minute ride from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A room facing downtown, for the skyline.
- Good to know
- The rooftop draws a line on weekend nights after 9, so go up at sunset.
The Russell
A 1905 East Nashville church turned boutique hotel, with stained glass, self check-in and no front desk. On Oct. 1 it had the highest Google rating of any hotel on our list: 4.9 from more than 1,300 reviews.
- Best for
- Couples and friends' trips, a 10-minute ride from Broadway. Five Points is about a 10-minute walk.
- Good to know
- There's no front desk, so read the check-in email before you arrive. Part of each night's rate goes to local nonprofits that help people experiencing homelessness.
Pick the neighborhood first. The hotel is easier after that.
The Germantown Inn
Ten suites in an 1865 house in the middle of Germantown, a short walk from its best restaurants.
- Best for
- Couples, birthdays and friends' trips, a 7-minute ride from Broadway.
- Good to know
- It's small, so book early for fall weekends. Monell's family-style breakfast is across the street, and Rolf and Daughters is an easy walk for dinner.
Kimpton Aertson Hotel
A Midtown Kimpton next to Vanderbilt, with a seasonal rooftop pool and Henley downstairs. It's pet friendly.
- Best for
- Couples, work trips and friends' trips, an 8-minute ride from Broadway.
- Ask for
- A room facing downtown.
- Good to know
- The rooftop pool is seasonal, so check before a fall or winter trip. Henley is an easy spot for a work breakfast.
Waymore's Guest House
An independent guest house on Main Street in East Nashville, with the Tall Tales rooftop bar on top.
- Best for
- Couples and friends' trips, a 10-minute ride from Broadway.
- Ask for
- The rooms farthest from the rooftop, if you turn in early.
- Good to know
- Happy hour upstairs is 4 to 6 PM every day, and Bolton's and the Five Points bars are an easy walk for dinner.
Conrad Nashville
Midtown's luxury pick on West End, with Blue Aster, the Thistle & Rye terrace bar and a seasonal rooftop pool, and a walk to Music Row.
- Best for
- Couples, work trips and birthdays, a 6-minute ride from Broadway.
- Good to know
- On a cool night, Thistle & Rye's third-floor terrace, with fire pits and cornhole, is the move. Pool loungers are first come, first served, so rent a cabana for a summer birthday.
