#3 in Meat & three + Southern#15 in Brunch + breakfast
What to get
- Biscuits with the house peach and blackberry preserves
- Country ham or fried chicken
- Hashbrown casserole and grits (Infatuation says these 'save the day')
- A slice of pie; a Mason Jar Mary to drink
When to go
Shortest wait: Mon–Wed 6 pm–8 pm. Busiest: Sat around 5 pm (up to 30 min wait). From Google's popular times.
The cafe's own advice: a non-holiday Wednesday or Thursday, 8–9 am or 2–6 pm. Expect a wait otherwise.
Insider tip
Reserve on Tock (parties of 8 or fewer) or join the walk-in waitlist online on your way in; for 9–32 people call the managers. Parking is free. Kill the wait in the old motel rooms, now gift shops. It sits where the Natchez Trace Parkway begins, so pair it with a Trace drive (Eater).
Heads up
Honest caveat: Infatuation (Mar 2025, 6.5) calls it 'a Nashville institution that's seen better days', with doughy biscuits and dry meats. Go for the tradition, the setting and the preserves.
